Today, 26 October 2024, students from the society had the opportunity to visit Robben Island and gain firsthand insight into one of the most significant periods in South Africa’s history. The visit offered a powerful and reflective experience, bringing to life the realities of incarceration, resistance, and resilience that defined the struggle against apartheid.
Through guided tours and personal accounts, students engaged with the lived experiences of those who were imprisoned on the island, deepening their understanding of the sacrifices made in the pursuit of freedom and justice. The visit served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of preserving historical memory and reflecting on how this past continues to shape South Africa’s present and future.
